CLIFF HOUSE

PROJECT

This modern coastal home, nestled on Old Fort Point with sweeping northwest views of New Providence, was a collaborative effort from the ground up. The design focused on defining the house’s elevation and sea wall, with particular attention given to the pool patio, a dramatic terrace featuring an infinity edge, spa, and cabana. Exposed to salt spray and prevailing winds, this north-facing area required careful plant selection while still preserving the client’s desire for unobstructed views. Below, a more naturalistic coastal garden flows with lawns and planting beds. The front of the home forms a welcoming motor court, where protected conditions allowed for more tropical, flowering species. Planting corridors on either side transition from coastal to lush tropical gardens. Materials include Ocean Reef stone, smooth concrete with grass joints, native pea rock gravel with stacked stone walls, and a custom-designed railing. Signature plants include coral creeper, Kimberly ferns, cordgrass, buccaneer palms, and white frangipani.
